|---|---|
| Aladhan API |
| Quran.com / AlQuran Cloud |

Rattil is an app for reading and listening to the Quran, and for checking prayer times and qibla direction. This page explains exactly what data the app uses, why, and how we handle it.
If you enable "Use my location," the app reads your device's coordinates for two purposes only:
Coordinates are sent to Aladhan API, a third-party prayer-time calculation service, so it can return accurate times for your location. If you're in Egypt, we snap your position to the nearest governorate's fixed reference point before sending it, rather than your exact coordinates.
Calculated entirely on your device — never sent to any server.
We do not store your location on any server we operate, and we don't use it for anything beyond the two purposes above. This feature is entirely optional — you can enter your city manually instead of sharing your location.
The app has no login or user account. The following is stored locally on your phone only, never transmitted to any server:
Uninstalling the app removes this data automatically.
| Service | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Aladhan API | Prayer time calculation |
| Quran.com / AlQuran Cloud | Tafsir and translation text |
| cdn.islamic.network | Recitation audio streaming |
| mp3quran.net | Streaming for specific reciters |
These requests contain only what the service needs to function (like a verse number or coordinates) — no personal identifier about you.
The app is suitable for all ages and does not collect any data specifically about children beyond what's described above.
If this policy changes materially, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
